In 2021 I worked with a private client to knit seven cashmere blankets for her family. She graced me with her mother’s yarn to make meaningful pieces in her mother’s memory.
We focused on Scottish stitches to celebrate her family’s heritage.
For each piece the weight of each available yarn color and type was calculated to come up with colorways- each blanket different from the next.

Every blanket was gently washed with softener before the final steam to release those beautiful cashmere fibers.
Finished blankets.
I was given a variety of yarns and yarn amounts in multiple colors.
We moved forward with fairisle to highlight her mother’s yarn at the blanket ends.

Through each stage a good steam is always helpful!
Packed up and ready to go to their home!
